Motorcycle Headset; I Wish They'd Get This Right

CNet has a review of the Cardo Scala Rider Bluetooth headset designed to attach to a motorcycle helmet as pictured here.

They liked it, I don't. First off: Who in their right mind brings a cell phone device on a bike trip. If there's anywhere that I don't want to be bothered it's on the Duc.

Next, I know I haven't tested it, but I'll bet my last brass button that anything attached to the outside of a bike helmet at speed is going to sound like crapola--especially if it runs over Bluetooth.

Where is what they should be building? Why hasn't Shoei or Arai made an optional attachement that fits where it should: inside the helmet. And if you're such an obsessive personality that you've got to hook it to a cell phone, okay; but what it really needs to hook to is...my MP3 player like the T10 below. Now you're talking useful. A long lonesome trip up the Merritt Parkway, or across rte 198 or 229 to the 5 and down to Bakersfield, what do you need to give it a little more zing? Tunes! Forget the cell phone! Give me music! Yeah, it's dangerous, but so's being on a bike in the first place.
